GRACE FRANKLIN

CERTIFIED PRACTISING SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Grace is a Paediatric Speech Pathologist at Talk About It Speech Pathology. Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in Adelaide in 2015 and she has worked in Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland in both the public and private sectors. Grace first started Talk About It Speech Pathology in 2018 on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland however, after the arrival of her and her husbands baby boy in October 2021, they decided to relocate back to their hometown of Adelaide in 2023 to be closer to family. Grace and her family now live in the Adelaide Hills and she supports families in the northern suburbs of Adelaide and in the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Region.

Grace’s passion is helping children with their speech, language, literacy and social-emotional wellbeing to become confident communicators. She implements a strengths-based, evidence-based intervention approach and thrives on having the capacity to work closely with her clients, families, carers and other health and educational professionals. Grace follows a neurodivergent affirming approach with the families and clients she works with and encourages individuals to embrace their true selves, the strengths, views and passions they bring to the world.

Talk About it Speech Pathology Sunshine Coast

Grace has experience in assessment and intervention for children and adolescents, from ages 18 months – 12 years, with:

  • Speech delays/disorders
  • Receptive and expressive language delays/disorders
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Learning difficulties/differences
  • Learning disabilities including Dyslexia
  • Minimally speaking or non-speaking
  • Social differences

Grace is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and holds a current Certified Practising Membership. Grace is committed to ongoing professional development and is a Certified Hanen Instructor in the “It Takes Two to Talk” and “More Than Words” parent programs. Grace has also completed training in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), PROMPT, the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding program, the Sounds-Write Linguistic Phonics program and the Lidcombe Program (a stuttering intervention).
